Advocacy is a key purpose of the Nevada Bankers Association. We “plead the cause” of our member banks and work toward legislative results that foster sound decisions, support economic growth and and support a free enterprise system in our state. NBA members, association lobbyists and staff are the primary source of input and feedback on legislative and regulatory proposals affecting the financial services industry, both at the state and national levels.
The NBA actively seeks the involvement, accountability and proactive engagement of its member banks. The Government Affairs Committee is chaired by Spencer Hafen and meets regularly for reviews on bill draft requests, updates campaigns and elections and evaluating the legal landscape, and to assess other relevant issues.
The NBA considers all efforts to promote the industry of banking in Nevada to be a core part of its advocacy. This includes publicity, education and other activites that further highlight and enrich the relationships between banks and the communities they serve.
